LCACE Help Desk
The Help Desk is generally staffed by three
regular Team Members from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM
before our monthly general meeting. The Help
Desk Team are
scheduled to help anyone with a computer related
question or issue.
Because our Team Members have different areas of
expertise, they can handle a wide variety of
concerns. Most help is from minor performance
issues, but sometimes a ‘client’ may need
something as serious as data salvage, and an
operating system reinstalled. That may required a
house calls, or trip to the shop’. But our
team does not charge
for our work.
Our Team Members are able to provide you with
assistance with Windows and networking, tablet
and smart phones, older system and the
Linux operating systems. Team members can work outside
these areas, but like to go with their
strengths.
The Help Desk team has felt its rewarding helping
other people. And as important side benefits is
expanding their knowledge. If any other members
would like to be a Help Desk team member, the
main requirement is that he/she be there around
11:15 AM.
