SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go USB
Type-A or Type-C for my new device
By Jasmine D’Katz
I’ve been in the market for a new iPad for a few
months. This will be an upgrade to my five-year-old
iPad Pro. After a little research, I’ve come to under-
stand that newer devices (smartphones and tab-
lets) have upgraded from the Type-A USB connect-
ors to the new Type-C USB and for this reason, I
have to look into other means to transport my files
on an external device.
As I was contemplating this solution, I received an
email from Western Digital promoting their new line
of SanDisk Ultra Dual Drives. These new Dual
Drives allows me to move and transport files from
the Type-A connection on my computer to the Type
-C connector on my new iPad.
With the new OS 13 on the iPad, I can easily im-
port, export, or view files on the tablet. Even
though I have 512GB of storage on the iPad, an
extra 512GB of external file storage is a plus.
Now I’m able to carry files that I don't necessarily
need at all times on my iPad, but I would still like to
have access to them on occasion, like videos, pho-
tos. I have a large collection of ebooks for photog-
raphy and training videos from one of the photo
magazines that I now can carry with me.
They when with a swivel design which I’ve enjoyed
on other flash drives I’ve owned, and this helps
protect the connectors. The drive has a keyring
hole which allows me to attach to my keyring to
keep it convenient and secure, but I just toss in my
iPad carrying case which also has a keyring inside.
SanDisk offers a 5-Year Limited Warranty on the
drive. The drive is available in 32, 64, 128, and
512GB capacity. I purchased my drive from the
Western Digital website for $79.00 but got an $8.00
discount. With a little research, the drive can be
found on Amazon and other sites.
